Hurricane Irma Update #2

Based on the latest information from the national hurricane center, government agencies, and terminal partners on the gulf coast of the United States, we have activated our Incident Management Center for Maersk Line to review the situation around-the-clock. We will provide you with updates to keep you informed of the operational impact to cargo operations in North America.

We would like to provide you with the following port operations update (as of 12:02pm EST today):

Port Operations
Miami: All gates closed. Vessel operations will remain operational through tomorrow 1200 (TA1 Montana working now and TA6 SL Illinois working tonight).

Port Everglades: Gates open for pick-up only (vessel operations to cease after departure of TA6 Maersk Methoni) No vessels impacted. Will extend gates for rest of the day (1700) pick up only.

Freeport: All operations closed.

Jacksonville:  Gates and vessel operations to cease on Friday.

Savannah: Normal operations, but closures expected late tomorrow or Saturday (to be confirmed). “No new receiving allowed” for future vessels. Should a trucker have an existing appointment, we recommend contacting the terminal to confirm the appointment and status, especially regarding reefer and hazardous cargo. Georgia Ports Authority has established a text messaging system for information on Hurricane Irma and potential impact for Georgia Ports Authority. Text “IRMA” to 888777 for updates.

Charleston : Currently, normal gate hours are planned through and including Saturday, September 9. Motor carriers are encouraged to continue moving as much freight as possible prior to storm impacts arriving in the Southeast. Vessel operations are expected to continue through Saturday night.
